Mariampol and El Paso

The Markson clan is mostly a mystery, much like the lady at left whose photo was taken somewhere in Lithuania and who bears a strong resemblance to an early photo we have of Raytzel Markson.

Family researchers have managed to identify Mordecai and Leah Markson, whose daughter Raytzel or Rachel was born about 1864 in Sakiai, Mariampol, Lithuania. We have no further information on the Markson family nor any evidence of other children born to the couple.

Raytzel married David Girsh Beilman, son of Tuviash Beilman (sometimes referred to as Reb Tevye Bellman) and his wife Kreine Beile Zilan (also known as Corona Bailey).
